Everglades Backcountry Fishing Report By Capt. Wright Taylor

Everglades Backcountry Fishing Report by Capt. Wright Taylor

This last week I had a good friend from Texas come over to shoot on my team in a CCA Sporting Clay fun shoot. We could have done better, but I didn’t hold up my end of the bargain… anyways, he had come for a few days so Saturday and Sunday we went fishing in the Everglades. Saturday greatest us with heavy winds and pretty cold temps that morning.

The fishing was pretty good in the morning and got better in the afternoon. Sunday welcomed us with even heavier winds. The fishing again was pretty good in the morning but slowed mid-day. We had finally had enough and decided to go in. We made one last stop and he landed a 32” Snook, which went nicely with a 28” Snook he landed earlier that morning. It was a good note to end the weekend on, so then we went to the dock.
